Cookies
This site uses cookies and similar technologies. This page explains what each one does, why it's set, and how to change your preference. We aim to be plainer than the average cookie banner.
1. The minimum we need — strictly necessary
These cookies make the site function and cannot be turned off. Setting them does not require consent under PECR.
- ohl-entry-2026 — records that you confirmed UK 18+ in the age gate. 30-day localStorage entry. Without it, the gate re-appears every visit.
- firebase-session — keeps you signed in while you browse if you have an account. Session cookie, cleared when the browser closes (or on sign-out).
- cookie-consent— remembers the choice you made on the consent banner so it doesn't pester you. 12-month localStorage entry; we re-prompt once a year so your decision stays current.
2. Analytics — only with your consent
We use Firebase Analytics to understand which pages get used, where people land, and which links lead to orders. The data is aggregated and anonymous at the reporting layer, but UK regulators treat it as a consent-required category regardless.
- Set only after you accept analytics on the consent banner.
- Cleared if you withdraw consent (refresh the banner under Cookie settings in the footer).
- Retained 14 months by default at Firebase.
3. Marketing — opt-in, currently dormant
The consent banner shows a Marketing toggle for future use. Right now no marketing cookies, advertising pixels, retargeting tags, or third-party trackers are loaded regardless of the toggle state — there is no Google Ads, Meta Pixel, or TikTok pixel on this site. If we ever add one, this page will be updated and existing consent records rotated so you re-decide before any tracker fires.
4. How to change your mind
- Click Cookie settings in the footer to reopen the banner.
- Or clear your browser cache for this site to reset all preferences.
- Most browsers can be configured to refuse all cookies in their settings.
5. Third parties
- Firebase — analytics + authentication infrastructure
- Royal Mail / DHL — set their own cookies only when you click out to their tracking pages from your order confirmation
We have no commercial relationship with any other ad-tech or analytics provider.
