Research-use-only acknowledgement
This page sets out the research-use-only declaration that every buyer signs at checkout. It is reproduced here so that the full text remains accessible outside the cart flow. The wording shown to the buyer at the moment of signing is the wording that binds the contract; an exact copy is stored against every order in the Lab's consent register for six years.
1. Nature of the compounds
The compounds sold from the Lab's catalogue are research-grade reference materials supplied for in vitro laboratory investigation, educational study, or analytical reference. They are not licensed medicines under the Medicines Act 1968 or the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, and they are not approved by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), the European Medicines Agency, or the United States Food and Drug Administration for any therapeutic, prophylactic, or diagnostic indication in humans or animals.
2. No human or animal use
By placing an order the Buyer confirms and undertakes that they will not:
- consume, ingest, inject, inhale, apply topically, or otherwise introduce any compound supplied by the Lab into the body of any human being, including the Buyer themselves;
- administer any such compound to any animal, whether owned by the Buyer or otherwise;
- prepare, formulate, or compound any such compound for human or veterinary consumption;
- supply, gift, resell, or transfer any such compound to any other person for the purpose, or with reasonable grounds to suspect the purpose, of human or animal consumption.
3. Capacity and purpose
The Buyer confirms that they are a competent adult acting in a research, educational, or analytical capacity. The Buyer is solely responsible for the safe storage, handling, and disposal of the compounds in accordance with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 ("COSHH") and any applicable institutional, occupational, or local-authority protocols that apply to the Buyer's work.
4. No medical advice
The Lab supplies no dosing guidance, no protocol recommendations, and no medical advice — whether on this website or in correspondence. Reference information published on the website is for general education only and is not a substitute for advice from a registered medical practitioner. The Buyer agrees not to rely on any information published or supplied by the Lab to inform decisions about their own health or the health of any third party.
5. UK statutes engaged by misuse
The Buyer acknowledges that misuse of these compounds outside their stated research purpose may carry serious health risks and may constitute a breach of UK law including, without limitation:
- the Medicines Act 1968 and the Human Medicines Regulations 2012 (in respect of the unlicensed supply or administration of medicinal products);
- the Psychoactive Substances Act 2016 (in respect of any compound that produces a psychoactive effect when consumed);
- the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013 (in respect of any administration to an animal);
- the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (in respect of any compound that may be a controlled substance under that Act); and
- the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008(in respect of any onward sale or supply by the Buyer in a manner inconsistent with the goods' advertised research-use-only status).
6. No warranty of fitness for in-vivo use
The compounds are supplied with no warranty, express or implied, that they are safe, effective, or fit for any in-vivo purpose. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 implied terms as to satisfactory quality and fitness for purpose are limited to the stated research-use purpose; they do not extend to any in-vivo, therapeutic, or veterinary use.
7. Record-keeping and cooperation with regulators
The Buyer undertakes to keep records of the use, storage, and disposal of any compound supplied to them, sufficient to demonstrate compliance with this acknowledgement, and agrees to assist the Lab in good faith with any reasonable request from the MHRA, Trading Standards, HM Revenue and Customs, or law enforcement in relation to the supply of compounds to the Buyer.
8. Indemnity
The Buyer agrees to indemnify the Lab and to hold it harmless against any claim, loss, damage, fine, criminal penalty, civil judgment, or legal cost arising directly or indirectly from any breach by the Buyer of this acknowledgement, including without limitation any administration of the compounds to a human or animal.
9. Severability
If any clause of this acknowledgement is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be unenforceable, the remaining clauses continue in full force and effect.
10. Electronic signature
The Buyer's tick of the consent box on the cart page, together with the signature drawn on the canvas at checkout, constitute an electronic signature within the meaning of section 7 of the Electronic Communications Act 2000 and are intended to have the same legal effect as a handwritten signature on a paper acknowledgement.
